14 / 25   The OR

Description
What once was the operating theatre!

I'm pretty sure this was probably just an overspill room for the X-Ray in the later stages of the hospital (the WINDOW is a dead give-away) but the signs it was originally an OR are unmistakable.

There's a doorway just to the right off the pic that says "X-Ray Room"

Yeah, I was standing just in front of the X-Ray safety booth in this shot. The originally an OR give-away though, is the floor:

It's a Toffolo-Jackson type anti-static marble job, which you find only in areas using oxygen and anaesthetic gases: total over-kill for an X-Ray room, so I'm guessing it was a theatre first.

Also the window to the front here doesn't seem original, but a later plaster-board and framing addition. I'm guessing the room next door (with the lights) was originally a recovery room?

Probably, I think they keep the preop rooms a farther way.
