  I never ascertained why they built this. Most certainly NL era.
I think the only relic left from 1840 is the Mac cottage. This village has been abandoned once in 1850 ; Adirondack explorers checked out the wreckage then. WIth its resurgence and the prescence of the Sportsmans club it had its resurgence. NL more than likely rebuilt most of these structures around 1942.

My dad talked to a Lady in FL that was born in the Mac cottage, how cool is that. I talked to a guy that grew up in the NL vill at Tahawus and went to his first date by walking to Adirondak, out and back in the dark, and this woman became his wife.

This place blows my mind, the shit you can't see, the dams, the barges, the pre fourties separation plant at Sanford and most recently the WW2 era plant, I just hate that they did this, the history is fucked up to begin with and now the plant that tied it all together is gone..

  Thats an awesome story. Makes me want to handcuff myself to a tree or something up there.
