  I found some interesting info on this bridge. I assume it's the reason there are two but only one has been in use for a very long while.
I included the link to the article from 1913 about the bridge giving way here. The accident killed 3 and left 7 badly injured. It seems like they decided not to repair this bridge and instead used the money to build a new one with a new connection that ran along the same route, both of which were more sturdy.
