Any ideas as to the purposes of these hooks? When I was exploring this fort I was mystified as to their purpose.

This was probably a storage building. Ropes would go through the hooks, and secure barrels and boxes to the wall, that way if a bomb were to explode in the vicinity of the building, everything wouldn't go flying everywhere. Now whether this really worked or not, who knows.

The same kind of thing is at the Spion Kop command post (Practice Battery) at York Redoubt, and I'm absolutely sure it was used for storage.

it could be for hammocks. there is no sign of places to sleep, which is weird since they were manned 24 hours a day. It was done on ships, it could of been done here too?

Also at Spion Kop, the storage building does not seem to have had these hooks, but the command bunker, with the ranger finder pill box does. Since it was used as the BCP at one time, it would of also been manned 24 hours a day.
