The entrance is shaped in a giant 'T' so a one megaton blast at something like 5 KM would blow through and not blow out the vault doors. Gold would be trucked in that way and not through the motor pool. Also there is a tempest EMP proof computer room that was used into the 80's If you are an underground explorer, go see it, its quite an amazing thing to behold.
