Not a shock machine guys [I don't think], this machine was used to measure brain wave activity. See the red needles at the top there (Bent) they had drums of paper running around them, with small pens recording the EEG.

If you think you might be looking at an ECT machine check for selectors marked 'duration', 'frequency', 'rest' and 'wave type' wave type is usually accompanied by symbols (Like a synth) also look for the Transindolor badge.

Next time I'm at The Psych I'm going to take a closer look at this and determine what it really is.

what building and floor is this in?

look at the second post, your question has already been answered

The first two floors in building 30 were used for archives, education (eg. First Aid courses) and offices (on the second floor). The rest of the upper floors were used at one time for patients. The stairwell had a locked door between the second and third floors to prevent escapes. The upper floors were abandoned when I was working there. Kinda spooky at night even though the building still had power. The elevator had the habit of starting up at random and travelling the floors. It would stop at the third floor, open the doors, close them and repeat with the rest of the floors. Then it would shut down and you just don't know when it would start up again. Like I said, pretty spooky.

weird, was someone maybe murdered here?
Posted by rainman8889 10/11/2004 4:53 PM | remove
Yes. I was told that years ago, a patient went on a rampage, murdered a nurse and then killed himself.

I have a zoomed in picture of this, and although I can't make out many words, "Dynograph Amplifier" and "Preamplifier" Made by the company "Beckman Instruments"

That sounds about right. It's a brain wave activity measuring and recording machine.

As suspected.

Everytime I read your story of the murder rainman8889, its just as creepy and interesting. I especially love the part about the elevator. Wouda loved to see it happen myself.
