That wood panel at the bottom of the stairs is where we used to keep the popcorn seed... main lights to the lobby in the panel to the right, soda rack under the stairs to the left. Omg, so sad :*(

Its so nice to see someone else who remembers this shit. I used to walk around "behind the scenes" when it was open for a little while everytime I went there. It is very sad to see it now

I gotta ask because I'm curious... how did you guys get in? Thru downstairs or did you somehow get in thru the roof (which I'm assuming would have been horribly dangerous in the state its in).

No prob. =) That place had so many places to sneak in here and there when we were open anyway, it was crazy. I don't know how well they boarded it up, put chains up, anything else... I haven't been back. I'm actually curious to learn who actually owns the building now... and why its still up. As far as I knew back then it was going to be torn down, but we just rented.

Last I heard which im not sure is entirly true, the building was owned by The Boston Concessions Group. As for measures to keep people out, they did and excellent job. To my knowledge my grouo is the first to UE Triboro. All the windows are boarded and all the doors have chains on the inside as well as plywood strips running behind the door mechanisms on the inside of all the doors. When you say downstairs do ypu mean the lobby or is there a basement i missed? I plan on going back eventually. I just have to get around to it.

No, I just meant either the lobby area or one of the doors to one of the theaters... there are so many exits and enterances in that place. I know a couple of the theater exit doors were always loose... Did you happen to catch a room behind theaters 11 & 12, it was an old storage room (ie ladders, lawn mower) and there was always a locked door back there where I wasn't sure where it went to (I'm guessing behind the screens)... would be interested in finding out. =) *hint hint* BCG is the company that owned the theater (where my paychecks came from), I didn't think they actually owned the building though... or maybe the land? idk.

I dont really know who owns it. I think I may have caught the room your talking about. Held extra ticket stub boxes and shit? I remember a metal mansion looking birdhouse thing in a backroom. I am gonna go back sometime for sure I just dont know when yet, but when I do I'll drop you a line and see what your up to.

Sounds like a plan.. I'd love to come along. I work so damn much and live about 1 1/2 - 2 hrs away now but hopefully we can work it out. I have no clue what the birdhouse looking thing was, I dont remember that. I was there almost right up to the end but I didn't actually close the place.
