Description
An old spiral staircase inside the tip of the Heritage Building. This is my favourite shot, because it was an 8-second exposure and the staircase was lit with flashlights.

It's a beautiful staircase! You can't really tell from the pic, but that room was really dark. So when I first walked in there it took me several seconds to even notice it in the gloom. Sort of a, "What's that...? WHOA!" kinda moments.

Yes, the LED light mixed in made it just that shade that gives this it's beauty. When you're in there you see none of this. Another good reason to bring good cameras.

I like this shot too. It looks amazing! The color, staircase, the shades. Another well done photo.

The window on the left makes it look like it was in the middle of the day.

I'm guessing that's from the floodlights outside in the construction site. Place was lit up like mad.

And remember that this was a long exposure pic. Whatever little glow was outside really picked up through the window.

the window is making me think, if this was taken during the day the window would be blown out with +8 seconds, but since you say it was taken at night, why does it look like the tint of green leaves?

I think that it is not a clear window, but a peice of translucient fiberglass. There are not any trees closer then across the street and several floors down, and up the street, near the subway entrence, from what I recall.

If you look at the pic on the main page for this location, this staircase leads directly into that green dome to the right of the pic.

I love the pic! Circular staircases facinate me, I think they're magical. Did anyone climb the staircase to see what was on the floor above?
