Sheesh. Never thought I'd ever see a wooden drain! How odd.

Do you think it's that chemically treated pressurized wood? Y'know, the same crap they use in mines?

  Hmm no idea. I don't recall seeing any informative stamp on the wood either. Perhaps it's encased in concrete?

  Yep, they used wood to make a form for the concrete, the wood left it's impression in the surface of the concrete.
