I live in California, but visit Seattle many times during the year. I've been to this tour a few times, and I always enjoy it. It takes you thru the underground parts of Seattle and Pioneer Square, under the streets, in old tunnels, thru rustic hotels, banks, and businesses that used to once thrive two stories underground.

If you're starting out in UE, it's at least worth a shot to go on the tour. The antique shop next door is the best afterwards.

I was in Seattle about the time you posted this and did take the tour, I was pretty let down by it, I wanted so badly to ditch the tour but looked around and realized there was no where to go. But the history is quite interesting. I miss Seattle.

I did the tour a few years ago and it was the highlight of my trip to Seattle. ;)

The tour is fun and interesting, and if you're in the area I'd recommend it. As for the areas of the Underground that aren't part of the tour: Yep, that's a major bummer. I'm kind of a utility infrastructure geek, and these places are likely home to some neat relics.

As you walk around the area down there, you'll see lots of those glass block mosaics on the sidewalks, so you can divine from these where some of the remaining sections are located.
