Very cool relic. I'm suprised there's no plan to take it down.

its like the cloverleaf at the top of the 13 for years the center bridges were unused and the outside ones did the work now its vice versa, was cheaper than fixing the bridges since the 13 will never be finished those 2 center bridges are best used

Actually, the one in red was never used at all, it was built to replace the one in green, but it was deemed pointless, so HRM cancelled the project. Plans on taking it down are unknown and not likely.

A case of government mismanagement. It should be removed or used for overflow.

they're better off just completing it. Taking it down would be extremely dangerous, not to mention it would cause the worst detour in HRM history.

that is one reason it still stands there would be no way to redirect traffic around the construction. noots is right just easer to finish it.

nootz, I remember driving over this overpass many, many times before it was abandoned and the new two-lane one was built. Think about it, why would they want to replace a two-lane overpass with a one-lane overpass?
