Mine has had heavy UE use, been ran over, dropped 60 meters down a silo (admittedly there was some ancient grain at the bottom!), used as a mallet, left underwater for a week, even whacked someone with it. And all the usual wear and tear of being dropped countless times. It's a simple mechanism, as long as it’s remotely intact and not corroded, chances are it will work!
