Freon c'est un gaz utilisé dans les vieux frigos (ben, as far as I know anyway) et c'est toxique pour les z'humains. Mais bon, je ne suis pas ingénieure alors je peux me tromper...

le freon etait revolutionaire comme remplacement a lamoniaque dans les frigidaires a cause cetait NON toxique et tres efficace. quote"Freons are colorless, odorless, nonflammable, noncorrosive gases or liquids" freon at the time saved many lives because a refrigerator leak could be deadly. When an ice plant leaks (as was seen at thibault and brunelle last year) they have to evacuate the neighborhood because propane and amonia are used as refrigerants. Exposiure to freon at worst will cause fainting because of a lack of oxygen.
when freon was outlawed because of its effects on the Ozone layer it was relpaced with r134A now freon vs r134a is an easy choice, freon was a better all around product. Freon non toxic, r134a very toxic, freon non corrosive (less chance of leaks) r134a highly corrosive (easy to leak and since its toxic..) freon highly efficient, r134a not efficient and that means more tailpipe emissions on cars. neither is a great product to have but the negatives of r134A outwiegh its positives
