ya know this is actually a bit painful. My father worked for 25 years or so in that building. and 11 more in the Shearer street building.
Sad.

my uncle worked 40 years for the northern started on shearer, moved to guy (herzing and teledirect were a plant and head office) back to shearer, then to the lasalle plant (old monmart now quebecor world) then to lachine only to work his last year in the mailroom at the plant on the t can

T-Can plant, eh? I did a few months in there myself. My boring as hell cube was up in the front, but I enjoyed each and every venture back to the manufacturing floor immensely.
The telecom business was a lot of fun back in the 80s. Before it all went to hell.

yeah, and when you think of the places the northern had plants, they were everywhere, even blachford next to the lucien lallier metro was a plant
