Did you actually get into any of the mines, or did you just look in?

No mines at this location, but at some other places where all the big mines weren't gated I went into those. Due to lack of any safety devices besides a flashlight, mines like this didn't really appeal to me.

This particular style of mine is very dangerous. This is really nothing more than an overhanging lip of rock supported by 80 year old timbers. You may notice that the upper support of the timber in the foreground is broken and splintered. I would probably venture into this mine, but I'd be damned careful.

Now who in their right mind would... well if you were needing that gold, I guess anything goes!

I don't know, that wood does look pretty solid.
