That is indeed interesting. I believe it violates the National Electrical Code due to the potential for an electrical fire to be made worse by moving air, and to carry noxious fumes into inhabited areas.

Not shur about location but the double lugging i suspect on the load side does violate code[3 thing going into safety switch] Recognize MURRAY brand they were very popular 50s,60s,70s,80s have seen an ocean of Murray breaker boxes & meter sockets in my 40 year stint as an electrician.
