  It works both ways. Many animals died at the park for the sake of entertainment but I think what it means to say is that many animals died in the process of moving them and the local school kids could no longer see dolphins and whales up close. They had to go to San Diego. I don't condone keeping wild animals in captivity but I don't think humans will ever evolve enough to realize the same point. Aquatic zoos are just part of a process in social evolution that hasn't run its course.

  I remember that people were really angry when Marineland closed, the way HBJ did it was so sneaky. We went there as kids. It seems to me that when they did begin building condos or houses on that property, halfway through, someone set them on fire and many rejoiced. I assume there are houses now on that property--haven't been there in years. Great photos, BTW!
