Our house is 30 years old and the duct work looks fairly new although it's the original duct work. And in case someone asks "Why change the duct work?" My Dad did that about five years after we moved into our house in Oshawa. (The house was brand new when we moved in) The metal used was too thin and rattled like crazy when the furnace kicked in. My Dad measured out what was needed, made the pieces in his shop and replaced the old with the new. He had a couple of his men help him.
