Kind of weird to see fairly new looking galvanized ductwork in this old house!

Makes you wonder if they installed it 20 mins before they decided to walk away.

That's the beauty of galvanized steel. Takes forever to oxidize in a house. Our house is 30 years old and the duct work looks fairly new although it's the original duct work. And in case someone asks "Why change the duct work?" My Dad did that about five years after we moved into our house in Oshawa. (The house was brand new when we moved in) The metal used was too thin and rattled like crazy when the furnace kicked in. My Dad measured out what was needed, made the pieces in his shop and replaced the old with the new. He had a couple of his men help him. We were in that house for another 12 years and it never rattled since.

Well the duct work was probably added in way after this house was built.
