Description
I have absolutely no idea where these stairs used to lead. I never found the other end in the downstairs.

It goes to the kitchens!! I managed to find the bottom of it last week ;)

Was there anything interesting in the kitchens, or were they as empty and trashed as the rest of the building?

totally empty ... a few tiles that's about it really.

  Okay.

I'd like to hear more about your visit. How did you like Bokor? Was it worth the trip?

I will put some pics up if you don't mind??

It was awesome Bokor Hill was one of my main reasons for going to Cambodia .... and it didn't disappoint we ended up having a nose in nearly all the buildings much to our drivers annoyance!! The drive up is certainly an experience .. we did it in an uprated Toyota Camry and even then the going was tough!!

Why would I mind? Waiting for your pics and stories about the visit... ;)

Our motorbike drivers happily took us to almost every building in the area. The only ones we passed were those too far away from the road, and only because I was wearing shorts and didn't want to wade in the bushes.

I'm probably going to visit Cambodia again in a couple of years, and next time I'll spend a night or two in Bokor.

The drive up was truly an unforgettable experience. I don't remember how long it took us, but later we spent couple of days in Sihanoukville just healing our backs (and searching some abandoned warships).

Did you find the warships?? We took a drive out to find them as we had a clue to where they might be.... apparently the one that was kinown about was removed for scrap a year before :o(

Yeah. We were driving back from the fishing village, passing through a settlement, when a kid ran out of nowhere and hit the side of our bike. Fortunately he survived with couple of scratches, we didn't fall over and there were English-speaking locals who saw the accident and so on, so no-one demanded money or anything.
