Yes, they're one of the 2 big name Steel companies, not just of Hamilton but of Canada. Dofasco contributes a lot of funding towards events in the city.

Don't forget Algoma steel. Not quite on the same scale, but still a player in Canadian steel. (If you ever get a chance to check out Algoma's operation in Sault Ste. Marie, do so)

FYI Algoma steel was on the verge of bankruptcy, they got bought out by ESSAR which is a privately owned company out of east India. Presently it is in full production.
