Description
Oh yeah, these guys also live under the sea. Well, the new bridge span to be exact. If you note, there's a little yellow line midleft, which is known in fisherman circles (aka my brother) as a "Tube Lure". What this does is attract, with great speed, any nearby barracuda. Note that the tubelure is probably about 3' long, making that a very family sized barracuda.

So why would one want to catch a barracuda? Well, these fellows also have the responsibility to be a complete nuisance, biting and chomping any choice delicacy that you have slaved hours to convince to bite your hook. More than once did we have something hooked and only pulled up a head. The last laugh was on the 'cuda though, for as we were reeling him up, there was something a little more scarier than us since he did a complete 180 jumping out of the water like mad, running away from the wake that was curiously in hot pursuit.

Anyways, this pic and anecdote are mainly to say: there are things very very close to where you swim that will eat you.

theyre even scarier when youre diving. you come around a section of reef and all of a sudden theres 3 of them in dangerous proximity to you.

that happened to me when i was diving with some friends in this same area...except i was wearing a necklace from my wife that was polished silver and had a very nice spin to it when i was swimming. more than one 'cuda had taken note of my badly placed "lure" so i removed it with haste, i like my neck, i wanna keep it around for a while. lol
