We "lucked" out and got a spot right on the beach to pitch the tent for our first night until the cabin opened up. I say lucked, because we arrived during the first tropical storm of the season. There's something about a 40mph gale pounding your tent all night, and the feeling of saltwater covering everything that just can't be appreciated unless you're there. This is looking east (duh) up the beach on Bahia Honda, and it was taken while i was still in my sleeping bag with the door popped open. Also note the still pretty stiff breeze coming in, bending the grasses over. At least it kept the mosquitos away.
