Is it the same that carries all the phone lines ,optic fiber etc ? Because a Telus technician was working in one at that corner (Rosemont and St-Vallier) and he let me look down in it....and it looked VERY INTERRESTING !Did you have a chance to go in it ?

never poped one, they are all on the gravel bicylcling path along the track. The Incinerator used to sell steam to a couple of company in the area. It could be the reason.

oui, selon un article dans la gazette lors de la fermature un representant de la ville a indiquer que la ville etait obliger dinstaller aussi des chaudieres dans ses installations, qui explique pkoi sont si recent dans ces building

Also cjb,you have to pop more than one manhole...in my area, they're all mixed up...sometimes it's written égoûts pour égoûts pluviaux..et c'est tout sec and walkable....you can have like 5 manholes in 20sq feet all different.or not connected together......

Le long de la voie ferrée il n'y pas de tunnels. Il y a bel et bien un égout qui se rend d'Iberville environ jusqu'à St-Hubert, en longeant la voie ferrée.Certaines de ses bouches sont identifiées Comme suit: 'Bois-Des-Filions - Électricité' ,tandis que d'autres sont identifiées comme étant un tunnel de vapeur, d'autres de simple égouts.
Pour les ignorants, Bois-Des-Filions est une municipalité des Laurentides.
Alors comment transportaient-ils la vapeur si il n'y a pas de tunnels?
Il y a des connections sous forme de tuyeaux (sans tunnels) qui rejoignent différents immeubles avoisinant l'incinérateur .
Pour les sceptiques, voici une photo prise dans le sous-sol de l'incinérateur. On voit clairement les tuyaux de vapeur qui rentrent dans le mur (pas de tunnels). Ces tuyaux se dirigent vers les autres édifices du complexe Des Carrières.

Ce qui se rapproche le plus d'un tunnel est un mini puit dans lequel on retrouve des vannes pour ouvrir/fermer les tuyeaux.
Maintenant, pour ceux qui croient toujours à l'existence de ces fameux tunnels, j'ai bien hâte de voir ça.

lol, comme d'habitude les gens spécule.... ya pas de tunnels, pour avoir visiter l'incinérateur des centaines de fois, ya pas de tunnels. CJB et Kriss ont investigué la chose. Maintenant c'est a vous de me prouver contraire. Bonne Chance.

moi jai jamais speculer lexhistance des tunnels, je sais juste la ville vendais de la vapeur, pas besoin dun tunnel pour transportaer de la vapeur

En résumé: il y a des couvercles de trous d'homme "vapeur" mais ce sont en fait des égouts, l'incinérateur vendait de la vapeur et elle était distribuée sans emprunter un tunnel.

Par contre, il existe un autre réseau de tunnel de vapeur appartenant à la Ville de Montréal, près du Square Viger. Il est toujours semi-actif!

No problems...it's a war...Does the steam tunnel exist or not along the bike path ..
Some think yes and some no...as what's written on the manholes is not always what's in there..so it's hard to veryfy...cave clan invented a small device to open those manholes..and for most of them it works very well..(we experimented it when "aussie"-Nivelo was here in town) I'll try to get one and we'll have fun checking that out !
