How many doors/aperatures are there? This doesn't look like the one in the first pic.

That one just kicks around to the side of the waterfal. There are two openings, however, to which we don't know where they go. One is off the ground JUST to the left of that brick building, the other is THE doorway.

Thanks for the explanation, K. Looks to me like the water approach is downright hellacious any way you look at it. Have you considered dropping a rope down the orifice in pic #3? Soilage of the ole undergarments is pretty much guaranteed by taking that route, but I don't see any other viable strategy from here.

That hole is really only a secondary target, but if/when we go there, the only real way is to go from above, you're right

Oh, yeah, sorry, though you were talkin about something else. The orifice isn't really a good way to go, we decided.

Afriend of mine died here a few years ago-- fell in the gorge! Please be carefull. Most of the openings in the gorge wall were for discharging water from the mills circa 1830-60. Everything around here was powered by waterwheels turned by the river water channeled into raceways. Later steam then gas and finally electricity.

That is an exit for an old water raceway for the gorsline building. It has been reused as a cooling system for the current HVAC system of the remaining part of the gorsline building.
