Dynasties were JUNK... just plain garbage. All sorts of electrical problems, transmissions were weak, and the engine, ACK... those engines were guaranteed to either burn oil or eat a headgasket at 65,000 miles.

That's not entirely true. From 1988-1990, you could get them with the Mitsubishi 3.0 L V6, an engine which is pretty much indestructable. One of the most popular (and best) engine blocks ever built, it can be found in literally dozens of makes and models of cars. BUT, if you ended up with one built after 1990, which came with the Crysler built 3.3L, and the electronic 4 speed auto, you were in for some trouble.

the 3.0L Mitsu also had valve guide and piston ring issues. They wouldn't so much blow up as just fog an annoying amount of oil smoke... one of my relatives as a 90-something Lebaron convertible with the 3.0L V6 in it... had it rebuilt a couple of years ago as they refuse to get rid of it.

I sold my 2000 Mazda B3000 (with the Mitsu V6 in it) about a year ago. It had 375k on it and still ran like a top. The guy I sold it to has put 100k on it in the past since he bought it. Almost a half a mil, and still truckin'! One note: The truck USED oil since the day I bought it. In never smoked, but you had to add 1/2 litre of oil every 3000 km.
