Amazing, Cloth covered wires, and they lasted this long! these usually corrode and have a high risk of fire, so that is why it is so amazing!

Some of us still take that much pride when we are wiring something up. Also, there is a very high likelihood that wire insulation is actually asbestos. Back in the day, before asbestos was "harmful", it was common to find it used as wire insulation.

The electrician was most probaly Norman 'Rooter' Jones. I was his apprentice in 1975-80. This may be from 1950's 1960's.

The Contactors were for motors, usually pumps of some kind.After so many hours use the contacts would wear and cause problems. So, a new set of contacts were fitted and off you went again for another 1,000 hours of use.
