Thats a VIC20. The joystick isnt the original one, but what the heck if it works, use it.

The neat thing about those old Commodores was the use of an external RF Modulator to feed the signal to a television set. These are basically small television transmitters. I used to hook mine up to an antenna instead of directly into the TV as designed, and would get a fairly good signal for a few houses.

This would be something that would be hard to just leave behind.

Umm...Load "UER.CA",8*
#syntax Error
PRESS PLAY ON TAPE
Ahhhh, memories

The tape unit is why it was chucked out to the garage - those tape units never worked. You'd save your hard-coded programs and never get them back. LOL

I never had a problem with data loss on with those units. Waiting 40 minutes for a program to load was a drag, though.

actually, it was "LOAD $,*,1" Enter
:oP

  LOAD "$" ,8,1
got you a directory on the floppy

LOAD "*" ,8,1
loaded the first program on the floppy

LOAD "UER.CA",8,1
would've loaded that specific program on the floppy

Sometimes the ,1 wasn't necessary. Usually trial and error told you which way was right.

If you didn't put anything after the ", you'd get "PRESS PLAY ON TAPE"

Ahh still have my VIC with everything, never any problems with the tape driver either. Memories of Gorf, and Garden Wars come to mind.
