I'm liking the "Boots Off" sign...these people didn't seem exactly clean.

the people that trashed the place were savages, does that reflect anyone who lived there?

Nevertheless, if there had not been garbage left here to throw around, the place would be much cleaner.

Okay, is that a shot into a mirror? And if so, why isn't the "Boots Off" sign reversed?

Mirror? Aren't we looking through the window of a door?

Okay, maybe so. I thought the mermaid picture was taped to a wall mounted mirror.

The light in the frame seems darker, indicative of a mirror, and there seems to be a wall running up to it on the right. If its a door, I'm totally thrown off.

Naw, I'm pretty sure its a door. Think its the light from the flash going through the glass that's throing you off. On the wood to the right of the mermaid it looks like there was a handle that was removed. Think we're looking through the glass into a mudroom.

Okay I see that. Good optical illusion though.
