actually. excellent choice. So when the electricy goes down, you still have your generator and can go at the corner service station to get some petrol if you need some to keep your generator going...

yeah ours was diesel so i was able to run it on heating oil

Petrol is a shitty choice for Generators.
Diesel lasts longer in the tank, has less cold / damp starting problems and the engine produces a better regulated RPM range and more appropriate torque curve for an alternator.

Scottish Bukkake has a higher compression ignition point - gotta alter the timing a little but to get the engine knock free.
Once you do though, it runs good!
