However, it saves the integrity of the building. If it was on a historical protection status, tearing everything down _but_ the walls keeps the status alive. Doing complete gutting and renovations seemed the only thing possible from keeping the structure from falling in on itself. I commend their efforts.

I do too, but for money makers like those who transformed the Redpath into $300/sq.ft I found strange any useless preservation. I need to go back to see where the project is.
