most american ships on the lakes are registered to wilmington del even though they will never make it there because they have different tax laws, all the 1000 footers on the upper lakes are registered in wilmington but cant physically leave the upper lakes!

well right bow with the price of steel idle ships are worth more in pieces, i work in an office next to the seaway and there has been more than 5 sent to the breakers this year that went by my window, not counting the ones broken on the lakes

Whoever takes care of that marine likes to slather a heaping helping of grease on those mooring lines, though more than halway up. That way, you start you way up, get excited as you get closer, gain momentum, hit the grease and take a dive... from experience.
