  It reminds me of the Aztecs getting their asses totally kicked and buried by a small army because they were trained to take prisoners alive, so they could offer the beating hearts to the Gods, etc, etc.

  to blackbird: true but "a paddle with sharp pointy things on the sides" doesn't sound as good
