This is exactly the same as the Loew's in Montreal (when it was still intact although this lobby can now be seen again in the building). I would bet 20$ this theatre was designed by Emmanuel Briffa... ?

Yea, now our lobbies look more like a highschool gym painted black. Such a creative lot we are.. EG: Famous players.

As far as similarities go they are fairly common to each era of theatres and "movie houses" in particular beginning with the Egyptian themes from the silent era.
