  I'm guessing it was a "Radome" a tower where a radar assembly would go

  Actually this is the antenna/radome support structure, the radome would have been the big golfball-like canopy that used to sit on top. The rectangular openings in the top deck might have been for hoisting antenna parts from ground level.

  This would have been part of the AN/MPS-14 radar which was modified to AN/FPS-116 some time around 1977 and retired in '79 when the activities of this base were dispersed.

  As of today the tower is no longer standing. I went there today, and the only thing left not fenced in by the PD is the housing. but still a pretty rad spot
