  sure, 110-120 is "normal", 240 is common in houses to run dryers and other things (2phase), industrial stuff bumps upto 480 3 phase commonly

  These breakers are cool, you (or a motor) has to wind them up before they can operate. After they are wound and something trips the release, BAMM the contact assembly goes closed or open. Common practice is to stand to the side opposite the door hinges and reach around to press the button in case the thing explodes.

  That's absolutely fascinating, in a totally non-sarcastic sense. Stuff like this is commonplace to see if you actually worked there, but to see it neglected, "off", and totally out of service (not to mention out of place) is rather breathtaking. Warning signs that have no purpose anymore. Indicators stuck at "0" as an indication of their end of life. It's fun to pay them a parting visit...

  the keys to this building were left inside I found them in 2000 it was an awesome building to have fun in but now it is a NETFLIX distributing plant
