I may be dense at times, but aren't flag poles normally mounted 'normal' to the earth's surface? Those two at left are so off-kilter it ain't even close to funny.

when the 401 was built in the beginning only shell and texaco were given exclusive rights to the gas biz, this was one of the shell ones

I was talking with a lovely blonde at the Clarington tourism shack at Liberty/401 and she said that even as a kid she recalls that truck stop being abandoned. She said someone then re-tried to start a restaurant there but it failed quickly, to be left rotting away ever since...

My grandfather, whom drove from CFB Trenton to Oshawa on a weekly basis said that this place has been abandonned since later '79.

Drove by there a couple days ago and there was a cop sitting right beside the place, drive around b4 you try and go in.

this was still standing the last time i was in that area. a few months ago maybe? it was open briefly in the 90's, i remember getting poutine there as a teenager
