It's a future classic! I'll mothball it and sell for millions when I'm middle aged! ;)

Sorry, but the Rover K-series is well known for blowing its head gasket prematurely. *shuts up now*

My k-series montego was forever doing that... Till I chemical metal'd the head directly on.
:-D

Can't be that bad, you can find the K Series in the Lotus Elise.

I used to borrow a 220 turbo diesel from work.
Great wee car.

No wonder they went bankrupt.

[rant] They should have never gone bankrupt, the government should have stepped in. Police should have used Rovers etc., if you go to France or Germany you never see 'foreign' government cars. [/rant]

The police dropped the rover linage for a few reasons... High servicing costs, repairs and the fact they were all shite didn't help.
Wait, you think me borrowing the rover made them go bankrupt ? :-(

I don't think Rover was any more shite than any other mainstream European car brand the police uses.

You'll be pleased to know that the PGmobile has been replaced with a Nissan Almera.

Teehee, my granddad has a Nissan Almera. You have a 78-year old man's car. :-)

Yes, but I also have a Nissan Almera.
So in fact, he has a young explorers car - as does your GrandDad.
Bet you didn't know Gramps was so cool, hey? ;-)

It's still an old person's car. Gramps hates it because it stalls too easily.

Uhmmmm... Right.
/Never stalled it once, has good torque at low RPM.

He's used to diesels though. The 1.5l petrol is quite a culture shock.

Yeah, I came from a 1.3CDTi corsa...
It takes a bit of getting re-acquainted for sure! When I first got it I had to rev the fuck to make it move at all...
After 4000 or so miles it opened up a good one though!

I'll need to get a picture of my Almera 'doing the rounds' so to speak. Miss the acceleration of the 25, but least the almera has headroom.

If it's just brand new, wait a few thousand miles, the acceleration is there... Gotta wait for it to come out though.

I'm a poor recently finished student! Course it's not brand new ;) Was owned by an old guy before me I think though so it's probably never been pushed.

I like it actually, the grandad styling belies the rorty engine and the great handling. The only thing is the seat's set too high and I'm too tall for it. Oh well.

i found the 25 a bit cramped myself being 6ft 2, but after the almera the 25 has quite a gokart/mini feel.
