Jeez, that place was still occupied when i left Grantown in 1987 after living there for 7 years. They used to hold pagan ceremonies there on Saturday, then head up to church on Sunday... all part of keeping up the good christian image.

The castle was still occupied in 1987? It was in a bit of a state when I first visited in the early '90s and my grandparents led me to believe it was abandoned by the Grants in the '60s or '70s. Interesting about the pagan ceremonies though, tell more!

I remember going there in and around 1986, as my dad had a meeting with the caretaker. I had to stay in the car tho... The pagan ceremonies where rumours, but i remeber hearing about them when i was a kid. I went back to Grantown in 2000, after spending a few days there as an adult i'd believe it... lol
