Description
I really hate that faded pink harling. There's probably some really nice stonework lurking underneath.

I actually like a nice render well done.

I always think render looks so depressing unless its painted.

This stuff looks grim. It's rubble underneath, but I still think it'd look better.

The rubble isn't meant to be seen though. Why would someone build a big house like this and let people see that it was built out of a pile of rubble? Plus the harling is their to protect the stone since it's the structure of the building. Take away the harling and the building will just crumble away in time, add the dampness and rot to that too.

Obviously though, with a building in this condition, the harling aint protecting it all the much nowadays.

I like the rubble better, but you're right - it wouldn't look as grand and the harling is probably protecting it. Where the rubble work is exposed the mortar looks /very/ ready to let go.
