Yes indeed! To cover the ugly Lathe!

Dude really does seem to have a problem with the lathe, eh? Just to be annoying, I'll have you know that it's behind every single wall in my apartment. Pretty much every Canadian building from the 1950s or older has it. Hah!

Ah yes, so it seems NirvyGuy! Let's invite him over for a few beers and full exposure to our Canadian lathe boards!
;-)

Sounds like a plan, rainman. Only we're missing one essential piece: NHL finals on the tube :-(
Posted by IIVQ 5/4/2005 5:07 PM | remove
I don't have a problem with it, as long as it stays behind the plaster.

Yeah. I hear you NirvyGuy! No problem IIVQ. We'll make sure it's trained to stay in its place! ;-) Or we'll party at my place! Drywall here.

My house (1960s) has plaster applied straight onto either brick or breeze (cinder) block. That's quite common in the UK.

Good, snakeCorp. I'll stay at your place later :-P

Awww. And miss out on the joys of lathe and plaster? ;-)

  LOL!

Hey IIVQ - if it bothers you that much... Invent a better way, start a charitable foundation and start to convert the UK's buildings away from this technology!?

I would imagine that Lathe & Plaster leads to a far tougher/more durable plaster wall than the modern methods?
Posted by TurboZutek 5/9/2005 6:24 PM | remove
Well... Mine is over 100 years old... and still here! :-)

My bathroom (which is modern and was a good job) looks like shit after three years.
Posted by IIVQ 5/9/2005 6:47 PM | remove
Yeah, but we all know what you do in your bathroom Tz, don't factor that out!
Posted by rainman8889 5/10/2005 3:34 AM | remove
Yeah, abusive spunk and bad air do age the walls pretty damned quick! ;-)
Posted by IIVQ 5/11/2005 11:27 AM | remove
Make sure your stuff doesn't get inbetween the lathe TZ!
Posted by TurboZutek 5/11/2005 10:57 PM | remove
Well, it's my ceiling that looks like shit...

My house is made of sticks...
My neighbour's house is made of hay...
But this smart little piggy down the road made his out of bricks.

Show off!
