You know, I'm just going to put this here and if someone wants to complain or ban me, fine.

Here's a little dose of reality for you. Japan got what was fucking coming to them, okay? They fucking bombed Pearl Harbor. and we took those bastards out, plain and simple. I'm just sorry that we didn't not drop one on Russia as well.

God Bless and Long Live the United States of America!

The Ruskies were our allies at the end of the war (there are photos of American and Soviet soldiers shaking hands and smoking together), and by the time they became a truly large threat they already had some nuclear weapons and/or a foothold in Europe. Attacking them at that point would have been insane; they would have attacked the U.S and the rest of Europe in retaliation.

Tell me, how many wars your people have fought on their own soil? That does not count the War of Independence or the Civil War (in the first case it was confined mostly to the North-East and in case it was mostly in the Carolinas, Virginia, and such). You would be singing a different song if your country had ever been engaged in an open war that threatened to cost them everything (and don’t say something about 9/11 or Pearl Harbor; that’s different). I know a lot of Americans, and they all say the same thing about the Cold War, “Thank God it didn’t boil over into nuclear war”. Be thankful for what you have.

The thing I can say for the Russians and many European nations is that they have tasted blood and near (or total) defeat on their own lands and know what it’s like to see their own cities burn and fall to the enemy.

Canada, Briton, the USA, USSR, as well as all of the countries that were occupied, and even Japan, Germany and Italy all bled and lost sons; we should be thankful to live in world that has only seen “The Bomb” used twice.

That be true. But, at least I know the -why- there. Perhaps if you had gone to school outside the US you would too, and would be less inclined to be such an ignorant dick.

The average soldier wants only one thing; to go home to his family in one piece and not feet first in a box.

Reminds me of "Grave of the Fireflies" watch it and try not to cry. It showed the plight of the average person in Japan during WWII before making comments on this.
