Apparently, it was the manh in charge of building the mall that made this structure. From what I've read, he went above and beyond what was required of him. To my dismay, there are two large trees now waving their branches above the visible top railing on the structure, and you can see tree roots eeking their way into the stairwell. I fear the place is going to crumble soon. I've tracked down and tried to contact the last person known to have a key to that doggone lock, just to see if anyone is still maintaining it, and to get a few more pictures while its still possible. Interestingly, the property that the cemetery sits on is for sale, separate from the WalMart's parcel. The old Avondale Mall and Cinema 16 sign are still standing as of today.
