I went out to Coyote Creek to shoot some photos at what was left of an old rock quarry. The location was on county land, and very visible from all sides. In talking with the neighbors there, I learned that there had been trouble with people from the newer sub development up the road calling the police every time they saw someone out there. I didn't want any trouble, and flashing colored gels and waving a flashlight around would get me busted for sure! So what did I do? I called the police myself!
"You did what???"
Yeah, i did it. I called the sheriffs non-emergency number, and was transfered through to dispatch. From there I proceeded to tell the nice lady on the phone about what I intended to do, and how it has generated problems in the past, so I figured I'd avoid it this time around. I gave her my contact info, make, model, and color of my car, and the nearest cross streets. She wrote it all down and said if they received any calls about me, they would disregard them! I thanked her very much, told the neighbors that I had the OK, and proceeded to hop over the gate. I tell ya, nothing takes the pressure off of a UE trip like having the sheriffs dept tell you it's ok!
Anyhow, heres the pics! The buildings them selfs are fairly plain, But I think the light painting worked out well.
