Good sized hospital, very modern inside. When I visited, very drunk and alone with, not kidding, my old UER keychain light, this place was covered and graffiti and was not easy to get inside. They had recently sealed the first two stories and the only entrance was on the third floor.

Even with it being a hotel now, you can still catch one of the most stunning views of the walled medieval city of Carcassonne.

Standard Mediterranean institutional architecture as you would expect in Southern France near the Spain border.

This was the first hospital in Carcassonne built in 1648 with its famous facade added in the 1700s. It fell into grave disrepair and was rehabilitated in the 1980s. Previously a hospital (Ancien Hôpital Général), it later served as an old folks home (Le Centre de séjour du Pont-vieux). It closed in 2012 from what I can find online, though I think parts were definitely abandoned a few years prior just from the decay.
