Canadian Collieries (Dunsmuir) Ltd. constructs a hydro electric dam along the Puntledge River to power the booming coal operations outside Courtenay 1914: The labour disputes are settled and mining resumes 1921: The No. 7 mine was closed 1950s: The town was abandoned and houses demolished.
