Stop 50 Restaurant, Gas Station, Bar, and Motel served as a popular truck stop along the Queen Elizabeth Way in Ontario. The gas station component operated under the Esso brand. According to a highly unfavorable review on a blog, the food was apparently terrible, but I cannot confirm this, as I didn't find it until long after it had closed, which happened sometime in September 2012.

According to one website, "In the near future, the site will become part of a commercial development including a Costco and an LCBO. Some of the land around it has started to be leveled." Update 9/25/17: A Costco has been built behind it, upon which they are putting the finishing touches, and they are currently hiring. A trench has been dug to separate Stop 50 from the road, the basement is being pumped out, and there is heavy construction equipment being used, including a backhoe that was digging within feet of the rear of the motel section. Demolition seems imminent. Update 10/2/17: Demolition is underway. Most of the motel section has been taken down. Update 10/9/17: The gas station building has been taken down but the pumps are still intact, and about half of the restaurant/bar has been removed. The basement is still draining and has turned part of the parking lot into a pond due to the volume of water. Update 10/23/17: The pumps are gone, and all that's left of the building is part of the floor of the first floor, the foundation, and a very small section of the basement. The rest of the basement and, presumably, some of the land that was around it, is now an open pit that appears to be around 15 feet deep. Despite the aforementioned parts still remaining, I think that it's safe to recategorize it as "demolished". Also, Costco's gas pumps are now open, and an LCBO location is under construction to the side of Stop 50. It's unknown what's going to be built where Stop 50 was.
