-Breath-taking Hans Christian Andersen murals painted on the landings of each floor of the grand central staircase. -Victorian style molding and architecture. -Bizarre Floor 3.5, a room at the top of the building that is not quite on its own floor and is built seemingly halfway up the wall. It was formerly the principal's office.

Built in 1911 and renovated twice since then (1949, 2002), the Bradstreet Elementary School served children from kindergarten through fifth grade. The school was designed to have large, old fashioned atrium style hallways that allowed lots of sunlight and the perception of being in a much larger building. Huge, arcing doorways and ornately shaped window panes were a hallmark of this elementary school. It also featured a separately built library in the back parking lot, connected to the brick edifice through a wooden breezeway. It stopped serving grades 1-5 in 2004, serving only kindergarten for its final operating year of 2005. It was shut down for budgetary reasons - the town saved over $200,000 by implementing kindergarten programs in other elementary schools around town. The now aging Bradstreet building was becoming increasingly less up to fire code standards and ultimately became prohibitively expensive to maintain. The library was demolished in 2010 and the building awaits demolition to be converted into storefront space. In 2013 the Historical Society put forth an effort to save the building, but town council rejected the movement and is going forward with demolition.
