The motel did decent business on the old Lincoln Highway (Route 30), the first transcontinental highway in America, until the interstate system was created and traffic through the area dwindled steadily. It closed sometime in the early 1990s after getting a reputation for prostitution. Now, a "new" Route 30 has been built half a mile to the south and the old one is little more than a desolate country road.
