  •  Interesting Features
The main AT&T/Bell Labs production floor. It was so large that it was tough to see the walls if you stood in the middle. Up until redevelopment, the office spaces were still full of Y2K-era ephemera, such as 9/11 images and chain e-mails printed out and left sitting on desks.

     History
The plant opened in 1943 as a Western Electric generator plant. It was sold in the early 60s to AT&T and Bell Labs, who converted the facility into an AT&T production lab. In its heyday, the facility boasted a 2 million square foot complex as well as its own personal train stop on the other side of the parking lot. In the early 90s, it was transferred to Lucent Technologies, who operated the building up until its bankruptcy in 2006 after the dot-com bubble burst.

Despite originally claiming to be reusing the facility, Amazon leveled nearly the entire thing to make way for an Amazon distribution center, leaving the recently renovated, narrow office building along the main road. Just a single vacant office that formerly housed the Lucent Technology conference center is all that remains.
