Whats left of was once the epoch of textile equipment manufacture in the country. Even with more than 50% of the place demoed what remains is still pretty massive. 5 full floors + roof access.

  • On one level the entire floor is FULL of nails sticking up OUCH!
  •  Interesting Features
    All kinds of stuff from the plant + roof access, an entire floor filled with on end filing cabinets, the "level of punctured boots" (you'll know it when you see it) but it's going to be less and less as the clean up and demo progresses. So put on your sneaky shoes and get the hell in there :D

     History
    This company was created in 1897 by the merger of George Crompton's company (created in 1851) and LJ & FB Knowles company (created in 1856). They created and sold looms that manufactured every kind of textile fabric. The building itself as I gather was built sometime between then and 1900; the plant remained in operation producing high-end looms until it's closure in 1980. C&K is now a major chemical manufacturer in CT.
